Beeswax is a great natural option for protecting and conditioning cast iron! Rub a very thin layer on a clean dry pan and buff it in for a protective coating that helps prevent rust. You can heat it in the oven for 15 or 20 minutes to set it. It is a natural alternative to commercial cast iron conditioners. For traditional high-heat seasoning, you can use an oil with a higher smoke point, like flaxseed or vegetable oil, but beeswax is a wonderful option for maintenance and protection between uses.
